# Cart or Checkout based deposit

In version 2.3 and onwards, a new option “**Checkout Mode**” has been implemented for deposit management. This feature enhances the deposit process by allowing customers to pay a deposit amount based on the total cart value rather than per individual product.

    During checkout mode, deposit calculation at product-level is disabled, and the deposit tab will also be hidden from the product backend.
